Back when I was painting my first Bandai Perfect Grade Millennium Falcon for a client I tried to stick as close to the filming model as possible. From my references, a lot of the colours inside the trench were very basic and roughly applied. So that’s what I went with, especially with the yellow and rust coloured blobs.

It risked the model looking a bit sloppy, but at least I knew it was somewhat accurate. What would you do on your model? Recreate the detail from the original that was expected to never be seen in detail? Or spend the time to apply colours as realistic and careful as possible?
